PA ANNOUNCER, OPERATIONS

JOB SUMMARY:

The Chicago Wolves are looking for a public address announcer for the 2012-13 season. This person will work all home games, which take place during the months of September through May. Applicants should have some previous public address announcing experience, preferably hockey.

Then stop by the North lobby behind section 109 to test your hockey toughness at the Chicago Wolves Check-It Game, courtesy of Dippin’ Dots. You’ll get 3 hits for $1, and afterwards treat yourself to an ice cold Dippin’ Dots. Proceeds will benefit Chicago Wolves Charities.

COMMUNICATIONS INTERN

CHICAGO WOLVES, GLENVIEW, IL


The Chicago Wolves are seeking an intern, preferably with a journalism and/or media relations background, to assist in all facets of the team’s communications endeavors during the 2012-13 season. This individual will work ALL regular-season road games from Chicago and many home games as well. The intern will also assist with daily operations in the business office. Duties include writing and editing game stories on deadline, calling local media after games with score updates, and assisting in the production of game-day materials. This is a full-time paid internship.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Journalism experience and knowledge of AP Style. Strong writing skills are a must.
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Experience with InDesign is preferred but not required. Experience with Adobe Photoshop is a plus.
  • Must provide own transportation as work will be conducted at the business office in Glenview, the practice facility in Hoffman Estates, and the Allstate Arena in Rosemont.
  • Hockey knowledge is a plus.
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or related field.

GAME-DAY ENTERTAINMENT CREW: SPIRIT TEAM

GAME OPERATIONS

CHICAGO WOLVES, GLENVIEW, IL

The Chicago Wolves hockey team seeks enthusiastic and responsible individuals to serve as members of our Spirit Team for the 2012-13 season. The position provides a great opportunity to interact with fans and to learn about the operations of a professional sports team by working home games and events.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Set up, operate, and manage the Wolves “Fan Interactive Kids Zone”
  • Operate, manage, and clean up the Wolves Saturday evening “Fun Fest”
  • Assist with various charitable drives and initiatives
  • Assist with other non-game events (optional)
